    The library will be closed 5A until the end of the semester.


    Any student who can help at the Santa’s Elves Breakfast, please sign up on the sheet next to Scan’s door. It is tomorrow, from 7am-10am at the Illiopolis Christian Church.


    The Dance Team is selling “candy-cane grams” for $1.00.  Select a card from one of eight designs, and the Dance Team will attach a candy cane to it and deliver it to who you bought it for during Advisory on Friday, December 9 and 16.  Buy one for a friend, teacher or special someone!!


    Dance Team practice: December 12 – 6:00 to 7:30; and December 14 – 3:30 to 5:00.


    FFA members: Please sign up to attend the Christmas party on December 12th in the ag room if you wish to attend. Remember to bring a wrapped $5 gift for the exchange.

    Anyone interested in a one day track camp at Illinois College, please see Mr Coach C for more info. There are multiple dates available, on Sundays, Dec 11th, Jan 8th, and January 15th.

    Mr. Gorecki is excited to announce the 2017 Spring Musical, "25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee!"  The show is a musical comedy that centers on six quirky kids at a fictional spelling bee.  Auditions will be held the first Thursday after we return from break (January 5) at 5:30 pm on the stage.


    SVHS Fine Arts Present Annual Winter Concert

    On Wednesday, December 14 the fine arts department at Sangamon Valley High School will present its annual Winter Concert and Art Show in the gymnasium at Niantic.  The sights and sounds of the season will include art from Mrs. Perrey's classes and a program of festive music from the Concert Band, Concert Choir and Valley Voices.  Performance selections will include "Winter Wonderland," "My Favorite Things," "Auld Lang Syne" and an exciting symphonic arrangement of "Ukrainian Bell Carol."  At the conclusion of the concert, the poinsettias that decorate the gym will be handed out to those who ordered from the band students.

    Get Creative, get festive, get ugly! SVHS Student Council’s annual “Ugly Christmas Sweater Day” will be Friday, Dec 16th. Winners will receive one Buffalo Wild Wings gift card per class and one to a faculty member. Also, that evening, the FCA is sponsoring an “Ugly Christmas Sweater Outfit Night” at the home basketball game v Edinburg. Gift cards to top dressed.



    FBLA members - Don't forget to sell your Spirit Cups. If any of your customers need a personalized postcard to give for the holidays, LET ME KNOW. All orders and money MUST be turned in by Dec 13. There are still some catalog packets left if you need one - see Mrs. Foutch. These funds will go toward paying for our trip to Six Flags in May.
