  • Science Dept. Receives Equipment Grant The Sangamon Valley High School science department has been informed that their grant for equipment has been approved through the Education Coalition of Macon County.  Rachel England, Michael Lee and Pat Schroeder attended an iBIO Institute NGSS training session at ADM last spring to be eligible for grant funding to support NGSS lesson implementation.The donation for the grant was given through ADM Cares which directs funds to initiatives and organizations that drive meaningful social, economic, and environmental progress worldwide.Many of our lessons funded by the grant incorporate STEM practices.  STEM education initiatives for all students are vital to meet the growing demand in the workforce.  New classes and a new lab are valuable assets that will help us ...

  • SAT Information for Junior Parents All junior students of Sangamon Valley High School will be taking the SAT on April 5, 2017.  The SAT is replacing the formerly used ACT as the new standard test for college readiness and will be the benchmark score for the application process for the next step after high school.  In order to help students prepare for this we will be during SAT prep during Advisory time every day with the Juniors.Over the next 14 weeks we will be practicing as a class and using some features offered in the online practice.  One of the best tools to help prepare is to take the time to practice a full length test.  On the website there are six practice tests ...

  • Congratulations Girls Basketball Team! The Tri City/Sangamon Valley Lady Tornadoes basketball team won the Macon County Tournament Saturday night at St. Teresa High School  in a close 48-43 victory against the Central A & M Raiders.  This victory marks the first ever Macon County Tournament Championship for the Tornadoes!  TCSV continues to have an undefeated season and we are all very proud of them!  Next tournament stop for the Lady Tornadoes will be in Sangamon County at Williamsville High School starting Wednesday January 18th at 8pm.  Good Luck TCSV!Watch video from Channel 1450

Today's Storm Report

  • January 20, 2017 January 20, 2017     Congratulations Ashley Ford on scoring your 1000th career point in last night’s win versus Williamsville.  TheTCSV Tornadoes now advance to the Sangamon County tournament championship game, which is tonight at Williamsville high school at 8 PM. Go Tornadoes! There is also an earring that was found in the freshman hallway yesterday, and a ring found in the girls locker room. Music Boosters will be sponsoring a Trivia Night on March 11 at Tabernacle Baptist Church. More details to follow.  Coaches: there will be a sign up sheet for the Farrell Flatt Tourney going around the school beginning TODAY.  Please encourage your players, cheerleaders, dancers, etc. to sign up to volunteer. FCA will sponsor “Super Hero” theme ...
